EARTHQUAKE

 

 

In 2015 Nepal was hit by devastating earthquake. Nepal lost many life's and monuments. Whole surrounding was full of agony , pain and grief. All we cud see around was broken hearts n broken heart. But there was something in the air, it was desire to remake Nepal , it was hope to maintain everything , oath not to give up.

This painting of mine is representation of those experience . The old-lady is supposed to be mother Nepal who is upset but not hope less. She is old and sad for all devastation  and life she lost but she ain't crying as she knows deep inside that she can maintain everything until she gives up. In order to represent her as mother Nepal I have only choose color of our national flag .

"Tika"/ " bindi" ( sticker worn in middle of forehead" is known as central part of face- I have used famous broken idols over here as they remained center of attraction during earthquake.

Instead of using single canvas of 60"*48" I choose two canvas of 30"*48"and joined them to keep that line visible as well as to make that line unerasable as effects of this earthquake remains unforgettable to us
